Mind Body Health Training (MBH Training) is a new business started by Sophia Kupse. For over 25 years, Sophia was a professional Complementary and Alternative Medicine (CAM) therapist, running two prestigious back pain clinics.
During the national lockdowns Sophia was forced to shut her face-to-face clinics which gave her the opportunity to transfer her work online. She supported people that were unable to access GP appointments and who were struggling with their chronic pain and mental health. Her online work became so successful that she decided to start a new business.
Sophia created an evidence based health and pain improvement programme called the ERASE Pain Programme (EPP). A digital therapeutic educational health and wellbeing solutions tool that allows people to self-manage their mental health and well-being. It is a digital platform for people to access resources to help them self-manage their pain or other symptoms without the need to access a GP or medication. It allows a user to build their own Personalised Health Plan (PHP).
Whilst setting out on her venture, Sophia received an email from Invest in Bradford informing her of a 10-week business training programme delivered through the AD:VENTURE programme. She registered her interest and was invited to a 35-minute interview before being selected. The 10-week programme revolutionised Sophia’s thought process. She gained access to a business mentor, attended training delivered by experts in different fields and also delivered a pitch about her business.
Sophia was successful with receiving a grant of £4875 from the AD:VENTURE programme which will help her to accelerate the growth of the business. Sophia will be using the grant to launch her new website, develop a portal for her training platform and also make video testimonials with the people she has supported.
Sophia - "Thanks to the AD:VENTURE programme, I got clear about my branding, which allowed me to think bigger about my business, and collaborate with professional sectors I would never have considered. I gained an immense amount of knowledge and support that expanded my market, securing new contracts which elevated my business growth to the next level. I will be forever grateful for being given the opportunity."
Stuart Ross, programme manager at AD:VENTURE “Sophia’s story is an excellent example of the impact accelerators like Northern Max can have on the participants. We know from experience of working with start-ups the early stages are the most challenging. It’s vital to seek support and explore all opportunities available, ensuring you have clear objectives and goals for the business. We are delighted to see the progress Sophia has made with MBH Training, particularly the collaborations she has secured which will be pivotal in driving future growth.
