TRANSPORT

Being at the heart of the Northern Powerhouse and UK, Bradford offers excellent access to national and international markets

Air

Leeds Bradford International Airport (LBIA) is one of the UK’s fastest growing airports. It is 6 miles from Bradford City Centre and generates substantial economic benefits by ensuring that the city remains connected to the world.

Manchester Airport is also within a 1 hour reach by road or rail.

Train and motorways

Bradford is well served by a highly-developed transport infrastructure with road links via the M1, M62 and A1 (M) motorways. The rail network connects Bradford to Leeds in 20 minutes, London in just over 2 hours and Manchester in an hour.

Public transport

Bradford Interchange is the main transport hub. It consists of a railway station and a combined bus and coach station. It serves majority of the local bus/train services throughout the district along with National Express coaches which run nationwide.

Northern Powerhouse Rail Network

Northern Powerhouse Rail (NPR) will transform the economic geography of Bradford. It will bring new markets within reach to Bradford’s businesses, new jobs within reach to Bradford’s people, new knowledge and finance within reach of Bradford’s innovators and entrepreneurs, and major international gateways within reach of Bradford’s exporters and globally connected firms. NPR can make Bradford the location of choice as a place to live for people who want to access job opportunities across the north, and for firms who want access to a wide talent pool.
