£1.2m secured for urban eco settlements

Leeds City Region has secured £1.2m of Government funding to support its Urban Eco Settlement programme.

The announcement by the Department for Communities and Local Government (DCLG) means that work on all four urban eco settlement sites in the Leeds City Region can now start.

YORKSHIRE-BASED Landmark Development Projects has secured planning permission for a five-acre mixed-use scheme in Bradford.

Permission has been granted for 50 homes and a development of six light industrial warehouses on Burnham Avenue in the city.

A debt-busting charity has announced plans to create 150 new jobs in Bradford as part of a major expansion of its HQ.

Christians Against Poverty (CAP) is expanding its facilities to cope with huge demand for its services from families hit by the recession.

The charity already has 200 people working at the refurbished Jubilee Mill, in North Street, Bradford city centre.
