Professional and financial services
The City Region’s financial and businesses services sector generates over £13 billion (21 bn USD) every year and is projected to grow by 51% between now and 2022, offering stable, secure investment opportunities.
The City Region has over 250,000 people employed in the professional and financial services sector including 22,500 in legal services meaning businesses are able to source the best talent at competitive costs.
A number of major companies have their headquarters in the district including Morrisons, Yorkshire Building Society, Provident Financial and Hallmark Cards.
Bradford is the home to the headquarters of more ftse companies than any other northern city.

Advanced engineering and manufacturing
The City Region has the largest manufacturing employment base anywhere in the UK, providing 160,000 jobs including 47,000 in engineering alone. Key sub-sectors include textiles, electronics, printing, medical equipment, automotive engineering, and aerospace and energy components.
Bradford is a major centre for manufacturing and employment; in fact Bradford has 25,500 people employed in manufacturing, the 3rd highest of any city authority in the UK.
Digital and creative
We are home to key digital innovation initiatives including Digital Catapult Centre Yorkshire and the Advanced Digital Institute.
Bradford’s thriving digital sector has 710 businesses employing 4,600 people including Arris, a world leader in digital TV and broadband technologies.
The Airedale Digital Corridor is home to a significant cluster of market-leading digital and electronic firms including Arris (Pace), SmarDTV, Radio Design, Teledyne Defence and Bradford Technology Limited.
The Bradford University led Digital Health Enterprise zone will be complemented by a new £7m Health and Wellbeing research centre.
Business growth in the City Region’s digital and creative industries has outstripped that of other UK core city regions.
Also, home to the National Media Museum and designated as the world’s first UNESCO City of Film, Bradford has strong links to creative industries, film, TV and radio. The city hosts the Bradford international film festival once a year which attracts global stars.
