LCF Win Law Society Excellence Award

LCF Win Law Society Excellence Award

Last Cawthra Feather (LCF) is celebrating after being judged a winner in the Law Society Excellence Awards on Tuesday 18th October.

The firm won the Innovation category for its new LEGAL365.com service, beating off stiff competition from national and Magic Circle law firms.

Speaking after a glittering awards ceremony at Old Billingsgate, London, LCF Managing Partner Simon Stell said he was delighted with the award "By launching LEGAL365, LCF has provided a response to the forthcoming changes in the legal market and this award is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our development team and the support of the whole firm. We are honoured to be recognised by our profession for the work we are doing.''

LCF teamed up with Freeserve founder Ajaz Ahmed to develop LEGAL365.com a service that gives customers access to a legal solution, which is fixed price, jargon-free and available all year round at a time convenient to the customer.

The firm has recognised the fact that because of the Legal Services Act and introduction of ABS (Alternative Business Structures), non-solicitor competitors will soon entering the market and will be using the Internet to deliver legal services through established brands.

Ajaz said “LCF had a choice - ignore new entrants and their expertise in delivering successful services to a consumer-oriented market or create its own enterprising new service which delivers legal services in a manner customers are familiar with whilst ensuring they have the security and expertise that only a law firm can bring. Unfortunately the majority of law firms have got their head in the sand and think that the change won’t affect them, the truth is it will affect all of the industry.”

Simon added “Our business plan is also to work with large companies to provide their customers with our solutions through a white label version of our website, we are in negotiations with a number of well know brands to do this. We are also opening a chain of high street stores that will offer fixed price legal services with excellent customer service and convenient opening hours. All these initiatives mean that LCF are well placed to face the challenges that lie ahead in the legal sector”
