£3.5m Travelodge hotel declared open for business

Budget hotel Travelodge has opened a £3.5 million site in Bradford, creating 17 new jobs. The Lord Mayor of Bradford Councillor Naveeda Ikram opened the new 69 bedroom hotel, in Valley Road, near Forster Square Retail Park.

Peter Naylor, Bradford Central Travelodge’s hotel manager, said it was the company’s second hotel in the city, joining its site in Dick Lane, Thornbury.

He said: “Our bookings data shows the hotel is off to a flying start and will be fully

booked over this Easter weekend.”

John Schofield, Travelodge’s district manager for West Yorkshire, said: “We

are delighted to have opened a hotel in the heart of Bradford so that we can help

attract more business and leisure customers.”

The Lord Mayor Councillor Ikram said she was pleased to see the investment in the

city centre.
