A Bradford-based building society has acted quickly to help people save for next Christmas.
With research showing 83 per cent of people worry about festive spending, Yorkshire Building Society has launched a Christmas Saver account, paying a fixed rate of 3.50 per cent gross. The flexible branch-based account allows savers to make deposits as they wish, up to a maximum of £1,200, before November 30, 2011, when the account will mature.
The account is available in all the Yorkshire’s 135 branches and 85 agencies, as well as across all Chelsea and Barnsley Building Society branches.
Sarah Lawrence, senior product manager, said: “This time of year can be extremely stressful as expenses add up over the festive period. We have launched our Christmas Saver account giving savers the chance to make Christmas worries a thing of the past.”
